Here’s my latest 3D environment concept. It’s a scary place where something just might jump out of the shadows, but do not fear there are some torches to light your way as you may need to slay a dragon or some other creature. Still lots to do on this one but I wanted to show you my initial concept. I hope you like it!
I have created a number of backdrop scenes for a short animation. Above is the “Night” scene and below are the “Dawn” and “Dusk” scenes. It was a challenge to get the design and colors in my head into the final design but I am reasonably pleased with the results. Thanks for looking! I can create custom artwork specific to your requirements. If you would like to work with me please email me to discuss your ideas. …
Something totally different for me. A “Pink” villain. I had this image sitting in my sketchbook for a long time and decided to do something with it. There’s nothing pretty about this guy. This villain leaves a distinct “pink” paint mark when he leaves the scene of a crime.
An alien docking station sits waiting for refuelling and for smaller vessels to arrive. I was aiming for an imposing view that would give the spaceship a feeling of mass and size but I may try other views too. I still want to add a few things to this image like: lights, lensflare, DOF, stars, dust, camera vignette and maybe a small vessel before I call it complete. Let me know what you think.
A new game environment I am working on called “Blobia” because of the blob type rock structures. It’s still a WIP. I still have to add plants and more terrain details and maybe the odd outbuilding but I wanted to test some different lighting conditions. I may post a few more light and atmospheres in the near future so stay tuned. (click image to see both day and night versions)
A very quick warmup speedpaint of an ancient castle on a rainy day. Castles were a symbol of power, a stronghold and a place of protection. I hope to be able to work on this some more and add more details.
A painting titled “The Fertile Wasteland”. Yes even spring comes to the desert and new growth is visible, but only for a short period of time before the sun scorches the earth and sucks the moisture out of everything.
Step #2 – Some more work on the scene. Adding a few more elements (caustics and DOF). Still lots of work to do to achieve the realism I am after. Step #1 – A simple underwater scene I am setting up for a project. Here is an initial test of materials and lighting. Hope to be able to make this look a whole lot better.
Yes, yet another creature challenge. Over the weekend I found some time to work on a few sketches for a new challenge called “Scatterbrain”. I had to really dig deep for this one to get some decent ideas but I like the creepy critters I came up with. Stay tuned for more!
This is a character named “boxy” a box with attitude who lands himself in a whole lot of trouble. The character was a whole lot of fun to create and give expressions too. Stay tuned for the official release!
